About Me

Originally I was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1974. My Parents moved out to the Canary Islands in 1979, where at present my Mother remains. I left there after going to the British School Of Gran Canaria and doing my GCSEs. I came back to England in 1990 and went to my Father's old school in Berkhamsted, where I did my A levels. After that I went to the University of London where I read Political Science at Queen Mary and Westfield. I finished my degree in 1995 attaining a "Desmond Tutu" Class Degree. After that I became actively unemployed for six months. I was then invited to join the Working Class in November 1995 when I applied for a position of active employment with Demon Internet, Europe's largest independent Internet service provider.

What I do at Demon Internet

I am a Shift Leader for one of the Support shifts that man the phones 24 hours a day and 365 days a year in order to help the customers that have any problems. I joined Demon since I saw it as an expanding company within which I would have the opportunity to learn many skills. This has proved to be the case and whilst the job is demanding (There is never a quiet moment!) it has been very interesting. Since I have joined, the support department has increased ten-fold and is still on the lookout for recruits. We have recently moved down to sunny Southend-On-Sea in Essex. My Deputy is Jim Radford and he smells even though his wife does her best to clean him.
